STYLISH SUMMER SHADES – for your face

Although I did a post about the kind of shades to wear as according to ones facial shape,
such infographic is kind of too brief. So I expanded such post and came up with this…

Shady Fashion: STYLISH SUMMER SHADES – for your face,
a guide to wearing that perfect shades for your facial shape.

The likes of classic aviators, wayfarers and vintage shades are commonly donned during the summer season. But do you have the right pair for your facial shape?
Each face has distinct features, flaunt yours by wearing the right pair of shades!

Oval Faces

Guys with oval faces are lucky enough because they can wear just about any style as such shape is highly proportioned. To maintain this balance, wear sun glasses that are as wide as the widest part of your face. Square frames, wraparounds and shields are the best for these kind of face.

Round Faces

The key is making the face look thinner. You can do so by making sure that the frames don’t extend beyond the widest part. Angular frames and dark colors tints are the best for making the face look thinner.

Diamond-shaped Faces

The high cheek bones and narrow forehead and chin features would look great with oval frames and squares with softly curved edges.

Square Faces

Angular face structures are best paired with shades that reduces the sharpness of these features. Try cats-eye shades but never put on rectangular or square frames as they over emphasize the facial angles. The key is to wear something that softens the angles.

Oblong Faces

A long face would look great with round or square glasses as these adds balance. If your adventurous enough, decorative frames and contrasting temples (the part of the shades that reaches to your ear) would greatly help break the facial length.

Triangular or Heart-shaped Faces

Metal frames and rimless bottoms would look great on guys with this facial shape. Aviators would also be great, as it softens the look of a narrow jaw and small chin. The goal is to put emphasis on the eye area, away from these features.

So there you go guys. Hope I did help, even a bit.

Have a great sun season!

We Summer Boys

SUMMER
is definitely the time to get out
and play.
The sun, the sand and the sea
are just too irresistible.

Check these suggested ensembles for this season's warm and colorful days.

Get these colors
and start the fun.

Asian Men's fashion is pretty much more throw back and laid back than
western fashion, and colors are best when worn loud.

It is also the best time of the year to sport pastels,
and shades in between pastels and solid shades.

More than anything,
its the best time to play with colors
and LET YOUR INDIVIDUALITY SHINE!

So whatever it is that makes you tick,
summer is the best time to
PLAY!

STYLE GUIDE / Summer Shorts

The summer fever is on, and I know you can feel it, too.

Although the summer season has not yet officially begun; IT’S BEEN HOT, it has been freakin’ hot the past days that the call for Summer Shorts has finally begun. So take those short pants off the closet and start sporting some cool bottoms.

(BONOBOS SHORTS// check here)

Summer shorts come in lots of forms, so the options at hand are virtually limitless. But what is it really that suits most of us Pinoy men? Well let me do a rundown of summer shorts for men, and let’s see where we get, err which would suit us best.

THE BOARD SHORTS

(HOLLISTER SHORTS // here)

These are the conventional, beach and sand shorts. These colorful (sometimes color blocked) shorts are the best options if you’re going to get wet. Owning a pair of these is quite essential especially if it’s the beach you are heading to (lots) this summer season.

CHINO SHORTS

Chinos are those not-slim-not-straight-cut pants, and they also come in shorts. These used to be donned by signature brand aficionados. But in the recent years, these have become common, so Pinoy men might as well give it a try. These are best worn during runs to a café, Sunday afternoon drives and those summer activities that require some laid back style minus getting wet.

BERMUDA SHORTS

These are knee length shorts originally intended for yachting.  And they do suit best activities around the beach or anything outdoorsy but still off and away from the waters. Going out for golf? Then these are the new fashion!

JEAN SHORTS (DENIM SHORTS)

Well there is one thing about these shorts, they are thick! So these are best worn only during those days when the sun is sorta permitting. Grab these during road trips and gala mode afternoons, when the sun is almost down.

CARGO SHORTS

There is only one event that requires a pair of cargo short pants during the summer. TREK days. Off for some wild adventure (I mean the real wild, not that kind of wild, chuckles, hehe). Thing is, these are perfect for casual treks. A lazy afternoon on the metro would also pass for these shorts, but style-wise, wait for the rains before doing so.

So there you go. As for my final words, I usually swing around chinos and bermuda shorts. These are like my thing. Whichever suits your body type (and makes you feel comfortable) would definitely look good on you. Words of advice though, make it appropriate. Those board shorts might cost great, but they are for the beach! period.

Keep the smart style folks!

CHILLIN'

Brent Tzu goes CHILLIN'
// a LookBook Post Made Possible by Nokia ASHA

Summer is fast approaching, and so is the heat.
And just recently, I and my dear friend Junie had a rather 'heated' encounter with the sun!
Imagine spending a couple of hours in shear heat - real, piercing heat.
Our office's generator set took a hiccup after a day's blackout and so
TO CHILL WAS MANDATORY, lols

Thanks to our newest best friend, NOKIA ASHA (tweet them here)
we killed some time and basked in the cool breeze,
while enjoying the sun's rage
by taking some of these lookbook snaps!

Beach Wear and Summer Undies for Men

A number of this blog’s readers have been tweeting me
about whether I would be posting anything about men’s beach and summer wear
– especially about undies and stuffs.
So as promised, I have collated some of my personal picks
for men’s summer wear.

Men’s summer wear is actually simple.
Its either you opt for board shorts or go
and dare yourself to show some (more) skin with trunks and swim briefs.

When it comes to my personal choice for undies,
mine goes to BenchBody and Hanford.
But there are three more I like when it comes to providing cover up
(when only the essentials ought to be covered, hehe)

Let’s tackle it per brand…

First stop, AussieBum.

Obvious with the name, this Australian brand is a prime go to of most men, for just in case you don’t know, it has enhancers, size-wise, in some designs.

It has an extensive collection of swimwear trunks and briefs. See here.
It also has surf wear. See here

Amongst my favorites, are these.

Second on the list is Abercrombie & Fitch.

Abercrombie & Fitch has a reputation of making really stunning,
and sexy men’s wear that many gals (and even fellow guys) dig.

Its latest swim wear category is way adventurous.
Check them out.

Last but not the least is Billabong.

It has earned its reputation since the mid 2000’s
in providing high quality board shorts (and beach wear).
For their latest, click here.

post note:

And since I have mentioned loving BenchBody,
might as well check their newest here.

...
Hope you have taken a pick now.
Enjoy this summer guys!

MEN'S HAIRTSYLES // SUMMER 2013

So I was being the usual me,
thinking of what to post next here when a follower tweeted me this:

Thus, came to life, this post.

I went through my usual go-to men's grooming sites, my favorite being GQ, has a list identical to this. I even lifted some suggestions from which. see here (GQ Australia)

...

So after some research, here are the best, in my opinion,
MENS HAIRSTYLE for summer 2013.

The brit vibe is still on, thanks to one direction, lotsa guys now sport english inspired locks. The western celebs also have got a rather 50ish, sailors inspired crops, not to mention, the booming KPop influence is also sporting a similar style, most of those recommended for summer 2013 men's haistyle are thin on the sides. Styling the top gives the distinctions.

Check these out.
